Bob Stone started his career as a radio announcer and quickly became interested in the music industry. Life soon took another path for Bob, and while working in the Purchasing Office at General Motors, and still pursuing his passion for music, he made weekend jaunts to London, England. While there, he traded music rights with a local british promoter. In one of the packages he received, the record hustler had a tune by the then-unheard of Spencer Davis Group. It wasn’t long after he distributed the record to his friends in the industry, that Gimme Some Lovin’ and I’m A Man hit the airwaves and hit big!! Gimme Some Lovin’ was number ONE within weeks, knocking The Beatles out of first spot, a major accomplishment in those days.

Bob continued and soon started his own record label, Stone Records which did very well for quite a few years. Bob has enjoyed a very interesting past meeting and working with a very diverse group of talented artists including such famous recording names as Jimi Hendrix, Lynn Anderson, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cowell, Cat Stevens and the list goes on and on.

Although Bob was having a lot of fun, he soon realized that there was a lot of talent in his own backyard (North America) but no one was there to help the small Independent pull it all together. Someone was needed to help record the music, design the album cover, press the vinyl and distribute the product and Bob was going to be that person ...

So in 1969 it began, starting as World Records with a mobile recording studio, designing album covers, providing helpful advice to clients, the FIRST of its kind in Canada.

From 8-Tracks to Cassettes, 45’s, LP’s, EP’s and now CD’s, CD-Rom’s, DVD’s.

The name may have changed to reflect the 21st century, now known as WORLD REPLICATION GROUP, but the legacy continues …
